In those reports you can see things like mileage rollbacks, specs and equipment, previous damage photos (if they are available from an auction site the car was in, for example), theft records...

That said, I suggest you to always get these reports together with the one you can normally get from your country road and transport authority, because there may be some information you don't get to know if you only check one place, and usually these reports compliment each other.
